Al Ezz Steel Rebars S.A.E (‘‘ezzsteel") (CASE: ESRS) ; (LSE: AEZD) is the largest independent steel producer in the Middle East and North Africa, with a total actual capacity of 5.8 million tons of finished steel per annum in 2009. It is the Egyptian market leader in terms of sales.In 2008, it produced 3.5 million tons of long products (typically used in construction) and 2.3 million tons of flat products (typically used in consumer / industrial goods).
ezzsteel customer base is geographically diversified, with flat products mainly directed to export markets, whereas long products are typically sold in the local and regional markets. More than 50% of it's plants are less than 10 years old using the latest in modern steel making technology.
